Who coached tennis, swimming, field hockey and the girls drill team in 1976-77 at M-A, will join
Frank Bettencourt, as the second coach inducted into the school;s Hall of Fame.
Bettencourt coached baseball at M-A for 38 years.
Born in Tulare, Ca 1915. Graduated from Fresno High School & Fresno State College, Fresno, CA First teaching job: Fresno City Schools.
World War II - She experienced the evacuation of all peoples of Japanese ancestry from the West Coach. Sent to
Relocation Camp in Jerome, Ark. Attended University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin where she
continued her graduate work for her Masters Degree. Worked for the Chicago YMCA; Taught at the
University of Illinois at Chicago; taught at Stephens College, Columbus, Missouri. Returned to
California in 1952 to the Sequoia Union High School district (Carlmont High School).
Transferred to Menlo-Atherton 1964. Retired in January 1981.
